Sustainability plays an integral role in all aspects of FIM Capital and being based at our home on the Isle of Man which as a nation has been granted UNESCO Biosphere status, we are uniquely placed to appreciate the importance of our environment.
As part of our focus on supporting our natural environment and protecting our future we have made a number of public commitments.
Signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI)
The Principles for Responsible Investment were developed by an international group of investors reflecting the increasing relevance of environmental, social and corporate governance issues to investment practices. By becoming a signatory FIM Capital is committed to integrating ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) factors into our investment analysis, decision making and active ownership.
FIM Capital is the headline sponsor of Beach Buddies
We are delighted to support Beach Buddies a local beach cleaning charity which was founded by Bill Dale whose work has been recognised internationally and featured in international publications such as the National Geographic and on BBC World News. In addition to the positive impact Beach Buddies has made on the Isle of Man it has helped to shape similar initiatives across the globe. FIM Capital is delighted to provide both financial and other support to this important local charity.

FIM Capital provides support in respect of back-office and accountancy services to Ocean Generation (formerly Plastic Oceans) in addition to Philip Scales (Deputy Chairman) sitting on the Board of Trustees of this important UK registered charity.
Adopting a pragmatic and proprietary approach to sustainable investment
In line with these commitments we have adopted a pragmatic and proprietary approach to sustainable investment which encompasses the following:
- We are mindful of sustainable investment considerations and ESG factors throughout our investment process
- We seek transparency from companies in relation to disclosure of their ESG profile
- We seek to actively engage with companies, and wherever possible meet with senior personnel, as part of our investment analysis, in which ESG issues form an integral part of the discussion
- We independently evaluate ESG “scores” on a regular basis using independent sources
- We consider sustainable investment considerations as a driver to enhance performance
- Investment performance remains of paramount importance
- We do not negatively screen our investment universe
